The hospital was very pleasant environment. Staff were caring and cheerful and seemed happy in their work. Felt hospital was up to date and modern with latest technology.

Simple reason is the phlebotomist was in a rush, couldn't be bothered to make sure she found the vein, she punched the needle in at 1m of a distance without feeling the surface (as phlebotomists should do), pulled iut the needle and rushed to tell her manager she finished her shift.
As a result I have had an extremely bruised spot around the area where she took the bloods, and not only is it a visual bruise it is actually a bump and painful. So quite frankly unprofessional phlebotomist.

The nursing care, support and attention Trevor received throughout his stay was exemplary. He had a fantastic holistic team that were focused on making sure all aspects of his needs were assessed with clear practical recommendations.
His nurses and nursing aids were wonderful with him, respectful at all times, caring, encouraging and calm even when he was very unwell.
Our huge thanks go to Lucky, Ryan, Lovine, Klaudia, Arianne for all they did for Trevor day and night (and the many others that I got to know less well), as well as the amazing and thoughtful OT and speech and language teams.

A couple of minor isses:
Had to change rooms on first night due to defective heating and lighting controls
Wasn’t offered any washing/handwashing post operation ahead of eating / Sleeping
Confusion about hospital supplying my regular Levothyroxine despite pharmacy staff taking details. None supplied on first morning and I had to challenge nursing staff to ensure I could take it at the usual time
Incomplete discharge medication supplied 2 days ahead of scheduled discharge
Found catering response slow around ensuring adequate fresh water and clean glasses- had to request several times
